Nalu Federal Small Business Advantage

Nalu Federal has access to the Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) Sole Source vehicle  This program enables agencies to engage in direct buy contracts with certified contractors, streamlining and simplifying the acquisition process for Contracting Officers and federal agencies. This acquisition method provides for direct negotiations in clarifying scope and budget, allowing both the federal government and 8(a) contractor to reduce risk - and therefore cost - in delivery. It has the added benefit of providing a streamlined process for rapid acquisition, and is a recommended vehicle of choice for time-sensitive projects with complex (and sometimes incomplete) requirements

SOLE SOURCE DIRECT AWARDS UP TO $100 MILLION: As per FAR 19.805-1(b)(2) and 13 CFR 124.506(b), Nalu Federal, as a Hawaiian Native Owned 8(a)-certified firm, can accept Sole Source Awards up to $100 million in total contract value.

• STEP 1. The Government Program Manager or interested party develops a statement of work, prepares government estimates and obtains the necessary funding.
• STEP 2. Through direct discussions and negotiations with Nalu, the Government Program Manager selects Nalu to perform the work and submits a procurement request to the agency Contracting Officer.
• STEP 3. The agency Contracting Officer contacts  Nalu's  SBA Business Development Specialist, Mr. Sean Smith. Ultimately, the Contracting Officer will submit an “Offer Letter” to the SBA for the designated scope of services that JBW will perform.
• STEP 4. SBA processes the Offer Letter and returns it to the Contracting Officer who submits the Statement of Work and Request for Proposal  to Nalu.
• STEP 5. Nalu submits the proposal which is evaluated and negotiated (if necessary) by the agency and the contract is awarded.

Sole Source contracting can be accomplished in less than 30 days, whereas traditional process can take over 90 days.
